Principal's Note

Dear Heritage Junior High School Families,

We are excited to start our first full week. Thank you for helping us have a successful soft launch! This week is busy, so please read the notes closely, and make note of the scheduled events.

On Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the MPR at the Elementary, we will be having a mandatory and final meeting for those students attending the Catalina Field Trip. It is important that all families and students participating attend. We look forward to seeing you there.

On Friday, we will be having Picture Day. Students may be in free dress, adhering to our Free Dress Policy. Students not in appropriate attire will need to contact home and retake photos on an alternative date. We will also be holding our Second Semester Awards Assembly at 2:10 p.m. in the EVCC. Parents of students recognized will be contacted by our office on Monday via email informing them that their student is receiving an award. If you are unsure if your student is receiving an award, then please feel free to contact the front desk. Additionally, if you are pretty sure your student is receiving an award and have not heard from us, then please check your "Spam" folder. Sometimes our mass emails get funneled there.

Let's have another great week! Go White Tigers

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Jason Gaylord

Principal

Boys and Girls P.E. students will begin dressing out for class next week. Please make sure your student has a
P.E. uniform each day of the week consisting of black athletic shorts and a plain white or heather gray tee shirt. Athletic shoes are required—no boots, sandals, Crocs, or dress shoes. If you have any questions regarding PE, you may email Coach Cozzi (Boys P.E.) at acozzi@amhcs.org or Coach Stralo (Girls P.E.) at cstralo@amhcs.org.

Wooden Wins

Each month we will be focusing on a virtue to develop the hearts and minds of our students. This month’s virtue is Self-Control, the practice of self-discipline and keeping emotions under control. Good judgment and common sense are also essential. Here is a link to the poster. Please feel free to use this resource to speak to your kids about virtue at home. We will recognize our Self-Control recipients at our Wooden Wins Assembly on October 3, 2025, in the East Valley Community Center (EVCC) Gym, adjacent to the HJHS campus.

Drop-off and Pick-up

Enter at the southwest corner of the parking lot, drive straight to the East Valley Community Center, make a left and drive to the front of HJHS for drop-off/pick-up. See the traffic map here Please be patient as the first few weeks are very busy.

Parents, please make sure that you are following our traffic pattern for drop-off and pick-up. Most of our families do a great job helping us by following the rules of the road in our drop-off and pick-up areas. Please note that these rules and regulations are in place to keep you, your students, and staff safe. Additionally, these guidelines are in place to keep our neighbors safe and able to use the roadways as designed. Please support us by following the rules and the law. We really appreciate your help!

Dress Code

All students are expected to wear uniforms. Please refer to the Heritage Junior High School Dress Code here for more details. Students may wear American Heritage Charter Schools (AHCS) spirit-wear every Friday. Please feel free to use this link  to purchase uniform tops throughout the 2025-26 school year.
